Halloween Beeswax Candles: From the Hive to Halloween
Halloween is one of those times of year when you really notice the seasons changing.
The leaves are turning, the evenings are getting darker and autumn is settling into the countryside around us. And here at Stax Of Wax Ltd, it also means our beeswax is finding its way into some rather different shapes.
From pumpkins and ghosts to skulls, tapers and tealights, our Halloween candles all begin with the same natural material — beeswax.
From the Hive to the Workshop
Beeswax is made by honeybees as part of life inside the colony.
The bees produce wax to build the honeycomb where they raise their young and store honey and pollen. Throughout the beekeeping season, the hive is constantly changing, and beeswax becomes an important part of the colony's home.
As beekeepers, we carefully collect suitable beeswax and prepare it for another purpose.
Once it has been cleaned and prepared, some of that wax comes back into our workshop, where we turn it into handmade candles.
So when you light one of our beeswax candles, you're looking at something that began much earlier in the year, inside a hive.
That's what we mean when we talk about from hive to home.
Why Beeswax Suits Halloween
Halloween decorations are often associated with bold colours, plastic decorations and artificial scents.
We wanted our Halloween candles to feel a little different.
Natural beeswax has its own warm golden colour and subtle natural aroma, so we don't need to add artificial fragrance to make the wax interesting.
It also has a beautiful connection to the countryside and the bees that produced it.
Rather than simply making a Halloween decoration, we're taking a natural material from the hive and giving it a completely different purpose.

Our Halloween collection includes several different designs, each made in our workshop here in Lincolnshire.

Pumpkins are one of the most recognisable signs of autumn and Halloween.
Our beeswax pumpkin candles bring that familiar shape into a natural candle design, making them suitable for an autumn display as well as Halloween itself.
👻 Beeswax Ghost Candles
Our ghost candles add a lighter, playful touch to the collection.
They're a reminder that Halloween doesn't always have to be dark and spooky — sometimes a little ghost made from golden beeswax is enough.

For something with a darker edge, our beeswax skull candles bring a more traditional Halloween feel.
They're handmade from beeswax and make an unusual addition to a Halloween display.

Not everything needs to be a Halloween shape.
Beeswax tapers and tealights can be used alongside autumn decorations to add a warm glow as the evenings draw in.
Sometimes it's the simple candlelight that makes an autumn evening feel special.

We're a family-run beekeeping business based around Louth and the Lincolnshire countryside.
Our beeswax products are closely connected to the work we do with our hives throughout the year.
The bees are working through spring and summer, producing honey and building their colonies. The countryside changes around them, the forage changes with the seasons, and eventually autumn arrives.
While the bees begin preparing for the colder months, some of the beeswax they've produced begins a different journey.
Into the workshop.
And eventually, into someone's home.
More Than Just a Halloween Decoration
One of the things we like about making seasonal candles is that they don't necessarily have to disappear when Halloween is over.
A pumpkin candle can become part of an autumn display. A warm beeswax tealight can be enjoyed throughout the darker months. And many of our candles are designed to be enjoyed beyond a single occasion.
We try to make things that are beautiful enough to keep, rather than products that are simply made for one day.
From Hive to Halloween
For us, Halloween is another part of the seasonal rhythm of our business.
The bees have spent the warmer months working through the countryside around our apiaries.
The wax has played its part inside the hive.
We then carefully prepare it and turn it into something completely different.
A pumpkin.
A ghost.
A skull.
A taper.
A tealight.
Different shapes, but the same starting point.

So as autumn settles over Lincolnshire and the evenings get darker, we're enjoying another part of the journey — taking something made by the bees and turning it into something to bring a little warmth into your home.
